Escape from Reality

So we have this little problem now that my parents have moved to the beach...At the drop of a hat we go to see them. It's so bad the my Scotty has been to California 5 times already. He is only 4 months old!! This past trip was over fall break and we stayed for an entire week. It was so nice and relaxing. Spencer stayed a couple of days and then flew home to work, and then flew back to help me drive home with the kiddos. One day we took our bikes to the beach to take a nice ride along the beach. Look at poor Tessa in this picture.. Do you think she is uncomfortable? Sorry Bear
 Admiring the scenic route
My cute Mom on her way cool red bike... I was coveting this bike all week.
Skipping rocks with Dad
I forgot to pack swimming suits and hit up a local Goodwill for some very hip swimming gear. Tessa found this one much to my dismay. I love her hair when we are by the ocean. Such a pretty girl.
OK, so we found this AMAZING pumpkin patch. I was just in love with all the wonderful bright colored pumpkins. We don't have colors like that in AZ. We had to pose for a family pic. I love my sweet family!
Our three ADORABLE kiddos.. Scotty was having some fun..
My Dad, Me, and Scotty. My two favorite Scotty's
Could it get any cuter then this.. Oh my
Look at this handsome devil.. So big and grown up
We got to push around this fun wheelbarrow with the kids to collect their finds. They got a kick out of this. I found my picks
 Tessa always striking a pose!
Popeye, and Apple Jul with their cute grandkids. They are great grandparents. My kids sure are lucky (on both sides) :)
I had a wonderful last minute decision visit from my friend Lindy and her kids. Lindy and I have been friends since birth  (literally our mom's where prego with us) She lives a couple hours away from my parents and I called to see if she wanted to come down for a quick visit. She was sweet enough to load all of her kids up and stay a couple of days with us. It was so much fun to catch up and watch our kids play together. I know it was a sacrifice for her to come over. I am so glad she did. This picture is all SIX of our kids. I can't believe between the two of us we have six. I still feel like we are just a couple of teenagers when I get around her. Not a mother of 3.
We took a couple rides to the park around the corner. I love it because I grew up going to the same park and now my kids get to go to for the rest of their lives.
We had to visit the harbor park. There is a HUGE boat on the sand and attached to it is a zip line. I love to see Seth do this over and over... again another fun memory I got to enjoy as a kid
Eating ice cream on the pier. A Must. Paxton 3, Tessa 3, Lyric 5, Seth 6
This picture was a struggle. Lindy and I realized that this picture was a must and when were we going to get another chance to have such a fabulous photo opp. Paxton was so mad because I was holding his arm to stay in the picture (Lindy told me to)
The newest members to the clan of kiddos. Scotty with his future wife Kylee. Aren't the so dang cute. They are only a week apart. I love how close are kiddos are.
Me and my boys playing on another play ground at the beach. It felt so nice to be outside. AZ was a little to hot still to be outdoors. Thanks Mom and Dad for such and amazing week!! Also Thank you Lindy for making the trip to hang out and catch up. I sure love you guys.

Gratitude

I was lying in bed last night not able to go to sleep, which is a common thing these days, just thinking of all the wonderful and generous things our loving parents have done for us during these hard times. Unfortunately, like many others we have be struggling due to the economic situation that our country is in. We are making it, but with much love, support, and faith that everything will be OK. I just wanted to tell both of our parents that we are truly thankful for all that they have done and continue to do during these hard times. They have been nothing but encouraging, loving, caring, generous, thoughtful, listening, and above all just been there for us in our time of need. Spencer and I have truly been "born of goodly parents". I could not have asked for better parents or in-laws. We truly are blessed!! Right now it is a little hard to look at all the things that we are thankful for, but I know that we have A LOT  to be thankful for. We have three beautiful  healthy children, our marriage, the gospel, family support, wonderful friendships, and the reassurance and the faith that things will work out for the better. I do have to admit at times my faith is shaken and I feel like I am drowning and can't keep my head above water. I just have to continue to tell myself that this too shall pass, and there are many other things that could be a lot worst. So TODAY, my heart is  full with the appreciation of loving parents who have taught us what is right and have shown us MUCH compassion, and are continuing to be wonderful nurturing parents. We love you Mom and Dad, thank you for all of your prayers and generosity!

4 Months Young

I don't know how this has happen but To-Hottie "his new nick name" has turned four months old. We went to the doctors today and he is growing and developing perfectly. He weighs 14 pounds 4 ounces, 25 inches long, and perfectly ADORABLE, just look at this face! I have to admit this is the start of my favorite age. He is smiling all the time and is even starting to laugh a little. He loves his brother and sister, his blanket, swing, eating, going for car rides, his bathes every night, getting his diaper changed (typical boy), and gazing at his hands and feet. He is just such a joy. We love you Scotty to-hottie with the swimmers body!! That is what Tessa and Seth call him.... poor kid!

No more excuses... No more fluff!!

I am writing this post in efforts to light a fire under by booty to loose some much needed baby fluff. I don't like the word FAT. In fact when my kiddos use that word I have a tendency to get after them. I know that I am not a heavy person. I know that I don't have a serious weight problem.  I know that my extra thirty pounds sounds like nothing to others. I do know that this extra weight that I am caring around is starting to effect me in not such a good way. I dread getting ready in the morning due to the fact that none of my clothes fit. I HATE the little back fat (sorry fluff) that get stuck in my bra! I want to feel healthy and energetic. I want to go for a run and not feel like I'm going to die after. I want to do something for myself and not anyone else. Why is that such a hard thing for mom's to do? Why do we feel guilty for doing something for ourselves? I struggle with that. I know that I just had a baby, and he was totally worth it!! I just am ready to get my body back and feel a little better about myself. So starting today I am calories counter, running/walking any kinda of exercise machine. My calorie intake in going to be around 1800 per day due to the fact that I'm a nursing Mama. According to some research that I have been doing, I must intake that many calories in order to sustain my milk. My plan is to record weekly on my weight lose and progress on my blog in efforts to motivate myself and continue my weight lose. So here I go... ready or not, I have to start some where!! My starting weight is .... drum roll please..... 168! Wheeewwweeee , that was a little hard. My REALISTIC GOAL is to be 145. I would love to be around 140 but let's start with this first goal  and see how we do with that first. I'm pretty tall, 5'7 and have a pretty athletic/curvy build. To say it in different terms, I'm not a petite person. So stay tuned until next week when I record my efforts of my weight lost. Wish me luck!

Tess took like picture of me...

Criminal Acts

Much to our surprise we have a criminal in our house hold.
The crime scene was located in Rue 21 around 1:45 pm yesterday afternoon. Description of suspect, female, around 3 and a half, curly light brown hair, over three feet tall, light skin, cute bunny teeth, and big blue eyes. Picture of Suspect....

Items stollen from the property

Noted.. Items where returned to the the store. Suspect placed the following items in her bag as the Mother of its tiny criminal was not paying attention. Punishment, stern talk, and returning of items. Closed case, lesson learned... never let suspect take her own bag inside stores. She will just take what she wants.

Denied

Yesterday morning I experienced a little jab to my heart. I realized that my first baby is growing up way to fast. I started the day off with getting Seth ready for school and then driving the carpool to school. In the carpool are a couple of Seth's best friends. He loves going to school with them. As we pulled up to the front of the school everyone jumps out. I leaned over to Seth and said " Have a great day Seth, I love you so much, give me loves (kisses)" He leaned in, stopped, looked at his friends, and then gave me this look of complete embarrassment that I would ask such a thing. HE WOULDN'T GIVE ME A KISS GOOD BYE!! I couldn't believe it. At first I was hurt then I realized that he is just growing up and realizing that it may not be the coolest to kiss mom good bye.  Ill be honest, it kinda hurt all day. When he got home I made him give me 10 kisses and he did not hold back. I can't believe that I have entered this part of my life... I am the embarrassing mom that takes her kids to school in her pj's and asks for public displays of affection in front of friends!! What is going on here!! I am totally that mom and suddenly feel very old.

Melt..

Need I say anymore?? This little man literally melts my heart away. You know when you are pregnant and you think to yourself there is no possible way I can love another as much as I love my other children. Well, its happened again. I am overwhelmed with the amount of love I have for this little peanut. I feel giddy when I see him smile and just want to roll him in sugar and take a big bite out of his chub. We had a rough first couple of weeks (6 to be exact) but we got him some magic little drops for his very upset tummy and now he is such a joy. I love his perfect little chin, his little dimple on the top of his left lip, the way the top of his ears stick out just a little, how he thinks he is so big and wants to sit up and walk already, the way he looks up at me when it's booby time with milk in his mouth and gives me the biggest smile, the way he talks and coos (even when its to early to get up), how I loose track of time just lying next to him watching him smile and talk, and how he knows his momma and lights up when I give him a glance. I could go on. All I know is that the extra 20 pounds that I am carrying around and the long grueling 9 month of hellish (sorry) bliss that I went through just to see you was well worth the wait and anguish. Please don't get any bigger...Love you Scotty... more then you will ever know!

Scotty's blessing

Would you look at Scotty in all of his cuteness!! I love this little man SO much!! I know that I am his Mommy but I don't know if you can get any more adorable then this. We had his blessing a couple of weeks ago and I am barely getting around to posting about it. Spencer said a very beautiful blessing and we had tons of family and friends there to support us. I am so grateful for the gospel in our lives and the many blessing that we receive because of it. I can't imagine my life without it and am so proud of my family for doing what is right. Ok so I can't get over his little outfit... The short are from Janie and Jack, the shirt from gap, boat shoes from Target, and Seth and Scotty had matching ties from a local boutique.
The other two cutest kiddos in the world. Seth man and little Ms. Tessa Bear. Scotty was so hot and ready to take his clothes off... He is my sweaty boy (takes after his daddy) sorry Spence
Proud Mommy and Daddy

Party of Five... I still can't believe that we have three kids!!! My buttons are bursting, I am so proud and in love with my sweet little family. They really do make life worth while.

Birth story of Scotty

I feel bad because I have never gotten around to writing about Scotty's birth story, so here it is. Scotty decided to come 2 weeks early to the day. I had go to the doctor the day before to get check and I was not even at a one. So being the control freak that I am, I thought I had plenty of time to clean, shop, and get my house in order. That entire day I felt so crummy, I felt like I had the flu, but I had been feeling like that for the last several weeks so I thought no big deal. The next morning the kiddos had swimming lessons and then I had planned to go to Target and start my big list of things to do... Like buy toilet paper (which we where completely out of). While I was at swimming lessons I started to feel that horrible feeling in my lower back. The one that you just know that you are in labor. So I went to Spencer's work to talk to him about what was going on. He told me to call the doctor just to see if the what I was feeling where true labor pain. Of course my doctor told me to go to the hospital to get check out, but I did NOT  want to go. I just knew if I went they would keep me there and I was NOT ready to have this baby. I didn't even have TOILET PAPER for heaven sakes!! So I dropped off the kids and we headed to the hospital with no bags in hand. On the way I called my parents in California just to give them a heads up and reassured them that this was not really happening but I was just going to make sure anyways. When we got there I was so mad that Spencer made me come. All I wanted to do is go to Target and get my things on my very important list done. He wouldn't listen!! I got check in and low and behold I was in labor. I was having contraction every five minutes and I was dilated to a three. I was MAD! My labor went pretty quick. About ten hours. I was stuck at a three forever but as soon as I got to a five it was only forty five minutes until I had Scotty. My parents got there on time and where there to witness the birth. It was a real spiritual experience. After he was born everyone was so quiet and reverent. We had just witness a miracle happen and we really had no words to go with it. We are so blessed that everything went well and everyone was healthy. We sure love him and he is such a wonderful addition to our family. We love you Scotty!!
I was so excited that they put him on my chest after. My other two kiddos had breathing issues so I didn't get to do this. It was such a surreal moment.

Everyone in aw.
Daddy (Spence), Popeye (my dad Scott), Apple Jul (my mom Julie, and Ya Ya (sister in-law Hope)
This time Spencer and I decided to have a party in the labor room. It was really fun and made the time go by fast. Don't worry my Dad stayed in the corner the entire time...

Love this picture!! Spence and I in love once again.

My sweet Nany..

So my dear sweet Nany went to visit our Heavenly Father this passed Sunday evening. She had been battling cancer and many other illnesses the passed two year. She put up a very good fight and fought it until the very end. I was able to be with her, her final days and be there when she passed. It was a very spiritual experience and I am so grateful that I was by her side in her time of need. My Nany (Margaret Herron) Lived a very full and exciting life. She married the love of her life Raymond (Papa) and they where married for 55 years. Believe it or not they actually ran away to be married in Vegas!! They had two sweet boys, Kieth who unfortunately passed when he was only 11 years old in a tragic accident, and then my sweet dad Scott. She loved to right dirt bikes, paint, do poetry, sing, play the piano, SHOP, travel, and be with her family every special event she and Papa could attend. I was her only granddaughter so I got to enjoy some very special moments with my Nany. Every morning when she came to visit I knew I could run up stair and watch her put her make up on in her big vanity in her room. She made all three of us grandchildren feel so loved and gave us her unconditional love. My Nany was a very genuine person. She was so sensitive to everyone and everything. She would even cry when we would bless the food. I know that she is in a much  better place with our Heavenly Father and I know that her son Keith was the first one she got to see when she passed. I also know that she is having quite the party in heaven with all of her friends and family that had passed before her. I am so glad that I have the gospel in my life that helps my know and feel the spiritual side of death. I know I will get to see her someday and I am so grateful to be the one that gets to do her work when that times come. I love you Nany... thank you for always being there for me and loving me the way you did.
Seth got to help with the casket. He was so proud.Papa and my Dad, Scott saying their goodbyes. They both loved her very much as did she love them.
